This week on Mam Kats Writers Workshop, she gave us a list of possible words and from those words we could conjugate a story worth sharing.
Well, not just one word, but two popped out and although opposite I thought I would use them together.
My version is….. simply excruciating.
I am referring to the loss Elizabeth Edward’s family must be feeling on this night following her tragic battle with cancer.

To me, she represents a classy mother in America that has grace, wisdom, elegance and strength. Raising three children and living in adorable Chapel Hill, NC she has been through it all, yet stood with her head held proud.
Based on what I have read and watched, as I personally don’t know her, she is one strong, selfless lady.

I see pictures like the one above and my stomach cringes. What it must have felt like for her to look back at pictures like this standing proud, tall, cheer leading for her husband as he runs for a shot at presidency only to learn that he had been having an affair for months. An affair that would be publicly denied, then publicly admitted as story after story made headlines.
All the while she is rallying around her husband with public appearances, political endorsements, long hours, long days on the road she herself was battling a disease all on her own. Cancer.
How strong her family bond must be for them to rally around her, encouraging her to hold her head up high as she sought peace and comfort while shinning away from the public eye.
As for “him” who knows what he must be feeling right now. Sadness, grief, shame. All I know is what goes around comes around and his day will come. I pray he steps in to play that fatherly role he so proudly tried to show America.
